Junior weightlifter Armen Grigoryan finishes 6th in World C’ship

Armenian junior weightlifting team has begun competing in the World Championship in Suva, Fiji. Armen Grigoryan was the first of Melik Ghukasyan’s men to perform.
He completed just one attempt in snatch and lifted 139kg. In clean and jerk, Grigoryan lifted 170kg at the second attempt. With a total result of 309kg, he finished 6th.
The winner in his weight class became Clarence Cummings (U.S.) with 337kg.
In April of 2019, Armen Grigoryan finished 9th in the Senior European Championship with the total result of 310kg.
Other Armenian athletes, Rafik Harutyunyan (81kg weight class) and Karen Avagyan (89kg), will compete tomorrow.
