Gary Karapetyan’s Holiday Film “With Joyful Ring” to Premiere at Laemmle NOHO 7

Short film “With Joyful Ring” by award winning writer/director Gary Karapetyan (embed https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8142904/) will have its premiere at the Studio City International Film Festival on November 5 at the Laemmle Theatres- NOHO 7 (https://tinyurl.com/yyt84p8s), followed by online screenings at the Arpa International Film Festival.
The film shares the journey of Thomas Mitchell- a lonely man who struggles with depression after a loss, wakes up with the hopes of finding joy on Christmas Day. The drama not only aims to raise awareness on mental health, but also shows how people can work towards seeking peace and happiness in unique ways. Karapetyan states, “No matter where we are and no matter who we are, we all know what it feels like to lose a loved one, especially during the holiday season when you feel the emptiness. We always go back in time in our thoughts and try to cherish these moments we had with our loved ones”.

“With Joyful Ring” stars actor Matthew Rhodes, who has played in a number of series and productions that have aired on Netflix, CBS, and HBO. Armenian cinematographer, George Pilafdzhyan has also played a huge role in helping Karapetyan’s vision come to reality.
All the films Karapetyan has directed up to this point revolve around mental health and the power of following your heart. “Creating films that impact our society” has been his motto since the beginning of his career, in which he has earned numerous awards and recognitions for. He was awarded “Best Filmmaker in Glendale, CA” by Laura Friedman of the 43rd Assembly District California State Legislator back in 2017, and was featured on the Indie Post in 2020 as a rising star who “Positively impacts the world”. He is a talent to look out for in the upcoming years, not only in the Armenian community, but in the entertainment industry as well.
