HIS HOLINESS CATHOLICOS ARAM I ARRIVED IN ABU DHABI FOR A PONTIFICAL VISIT

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, accompanied by his pontifical delegation, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, January 21st, 2024, for a ten-day pontifical visit that will also include Dubai and Sharjah. The visit encompasses meetings with high-ranking state officials, diocesan and community bodies, and ecumenical councils.

Upon arrival, His Holiness was officially welcomed by the Prelate of the ArmenianPrelacy in UAE and Qatar, HG Bp. Mesrob Sarkissian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Garen Krikoryan, Co-chair of the Central Council of the Catholicosate Krikor Mahserejian, Chair of the Armenian National Representatives Assembly of the Diocese Mr. Varoujan Nerguizian, Chair of the Diocesan Executive Council Jirayr Habibian, benefactor Ara Khanoyan, and other community members.

Following the welcome, His Holiness briefly met with ambassadors, membersof the Armenian National Representatives Assembly of the Diocese, and Diocesan Executive Council, as well as parish members of the Abu Dhabi “Srpots Nahadagats” (Holy Martyrs) church.

It is noteworthy that His Holiness is accompanied by the Director of the Informationand Communication Department of the Catholicosate, V. Rev. Fr. Hovagim Panjarjian, and the Officer of the Inter-Church and Inter-Religious Relations in the Middle East, V. Rev. Fr. Sarkis Aprahamian.
