San Diego Armenians Gather to Support Orphans of War

San Diego, California—Every day the news is full reports of displaced children at risk from war. For Armenian-Americans these reports from Artsakh and the Donbas orphanage in Ukraine are particularly heart-breaking.
Friends San Diego Orthopedist Anna Kulidjian and Kathy Kassardjian, a San Diego businesswoman and philanthropist, sparked a mission to do more. They collaborated with others locally and internationally to support at-risk Armenian children displaced by war, and children at risk of trafficking in San Diego. The goal is to raise funds for four Armenian charities at one family-friendly event. Gentlemen are invited.
Net proceeds from the Children’s Benefit Luncheon & Fashion Show, sponsored by the Sparkles Foundation and Trek 2 Share, will be shared among the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) Orphan Fund; the Etchmiadzin Children’s Fund; the Donbas Armenian Orphanage in Ukraine; the Trek 2 Share Foundation, which helps Armenian and other international war-wounded young men and women; and the Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition.
All are welcome to attend the Children’s Benefit Fashion Show & Luncheon on September 17 at Hyatt Regency La Jolla, 10:30-2 p.m. San Diego DA Summer Stephan, is the event keynote speaker. Summer has been at the forefront of protecting children in the San Diego community. Fashions provided courtesy of Macy’s Fashion Valley and Satori Designer Fashions in Solana Beach.
