Armenian athletes win 16 gold medals, set new records at XPC Powerlifting Cup in Poland

YEREVAN, ARMENPRESS. Athletes of the Armenian team won 16 gold medals at the XPC World Power-lifting Cup in Siedlce, Poland.
18 athletes represented Armenia in the Junior, Youth and Adult divisions of the championship.
Ara Khachatryan (90kg) from Gyumri set a world record and won in the adult division, while Ashot Petrosyan (90kg) won in the junior division.
Gevorg Aleksanyan (100kg), Hayk Afyan (100kg) and Makar Tamrazyan (67,5 kg) also won in the adults’ tournament and set European records.
Armen Nikoghosyan (56kg) and Melsik Martirosyan (60kg) won in the junior division and set European records.
Edgar Badalyan (60kg), Narek Tamrazyan (67,5kg), Kamo Yeghoyan (75kg), Artyom Soloyan (90kg), Gor Hovhannisyan (100kg), Karen Petrosyan (110kg), Artavazd Arakelyan (125kg) and Aram Margaryan (125kg) also won gold in their respective weight divisions.
In the women’s division, Janna Shahnazaryan – a major serving in the Armenian police force – became four-time world champion.
Armenia won the 1st place with the team score.
